Welcome
The Bow Bar is a free house situated in the heart of Edinburgh's old
town. We're perfectly located for an escape from the bustle of the city
centre, tucked away in a side-street a stone's throw from the Castle
and the Royal Mile and an easy five minutes – mostly downhill! – to
Waverley train station.
Wood
panelling, rare brewery mirrors, old style railway carriage tables and
a whiskey gantry salvaged from an old church give the place a
traditional atmosphere, which is enhanced by the absense of jukeboxes,
gaming machines and music.
There has been a pub on the site for
decades, the most recent incarnation starting in 1987, when Ian Whyte
refurbished it in its present style.
